Exciting news! I found out yesterday that my short story “Storage Cylinders” has been accepted by Encounters, an online science fiction magazine based in the U.S. Woot!
Aside from the fact that this is my second acceptance in a popular science fiction magazine, I’m particularly thrilled because I’ve been trying to get “Cylinders” published for a while. It’s the last of my older stories (older meaning I wrote them while I was still at Queen’s) that I’ve been submitting to magazines and anthologies, and the last one that I truly believed deserved to be published. I’d started wondering if it was actually worth publication, or if I should stop sending it around for a while and focus on other stories. The lesson, fellow writers, is to never give up on a story you believe in.
I’ve told that “Cylinders” will be published in the next issue of Encounters, due later this month. Stay tuned for further details!
