Great news! Yesterday I was announced as this round’s winner of Coastal Spectator‘s microview contest. The task was to tweet a review of a book, movie, CD, etc. to Spectator — essentially take a traditionally longer type of article and condense it to 140 characters. Since I had just seen After Earth last week, I decided to submit the following:
“When the end credits told me After Earth wasn’t M. Night Shyamalan’s story, my disappointment made a lot more sense.”
Evidently that was the editors’ favorite for this round. I just wanted to thank Coastal Spectator for accepting my submission; this is actually the first writing-related contest I’ve ever won, so it’s pretty big for me.
